City of Belton, Texas continues to waive brushwood collection fees

In the town of Belton, the situation is no different: many residents still leave brush on their properties and the town continues to collect it.

Normally, the City of Belton charges a fee if more than 50 cubic yards of brushwood are collected in a week, but after the storms, that fee was temporarily suspended.

Although brushwood collection is still ongoing more than a month later, the city has announced that the fee will remain suspended. The city is asking residents not to save brushwood to avoid the additional fee.

The city said it is still in “storm response mode” and is prepared to deal with the additional amount of brush.
