Kwara: Suspected serial rapist in NSCDC network for allegedly insulting three minors

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 45-year-old prophetess, Olayinka Ajiboye, a suspected serial rapist, for allegedly defiling three minors aged between 13 and 17 years in Agah Village, Ilorin South Local Kwara State Government Area.

The suspect, who is said to specialize in molestation and sexual harassment of minors, was under the watch of the command following several complaints about his alleged nefarious activities, according to a statement by NSCDC spokesperson, ASC 1 Ayoola Michael Shola, adding that He was arrested on May 7, 2024 following a tip.

“Investigations revealed that the suspect is the general overseer of the Ministry of Prayer at the Divine Land of Joy in Agah Village and he sexually assaulted several members of the church, as reported by the victims.

“One of the victims, Joy Godfrey, who bravely reported the case to the Command’s Gender Unit on April 3, 2024, revealed horrifying details of her ordeal. She revealed that Prophet Olayinka Ajiboye lured her to an unknown house in Sango and sexually abused her.

“He also forced her to swear by the Bible and instructed her not to discuss the incident with anyone, threatening her with dire consequences if she dared to speak about it.

“The second victim who suffered similar abuse (name withheld) also disclosed that the suspect began carrying channel knowledge at the age of sixteen (16). She further alleged that the suspect impregnated her and gave her drugs to abort the baby, which caused severe bleeding that lasted for several months. The suspect threatened to kill her if she revealed her illicit relationship to anyone,” the statement added.

The third victim (name withheld), who is also a member of the church, revealed that the suspect insulted her when she was 13 years old and said that she could not report the incident to her mother because the suspect constantly threatened her I warned her that if she exposed him to anyone, she would die.

The suspect, the statement continued, confessed to committing the crime and attributed it to the work of the devil.

The Kwarav State NSCDC Commander, Dr. Umar JG Mohammed, expressed concern over the infamous act and directed the head of the Gender Unit to conduct detailed investigations and ensure that the suspect is carefully prosecuted.

He appealed to the public to support the command’s fight against all forms of gender-based violence (GBV) while assuring them that the perpetrators would be prosecuted in accordance with the laws of the country.
