Launch of Bilingual Radio on WBFO-HD3 – RadioInsight

Bilingual Radio 88.7 WBFO-HD3 BuffaloSin Fronteras WNY of the Hispanic Heritage Council of Western New York has partnered with Buffalo Toronto Public Media to launch Spanish Public “Bilingual Radio” on 88.7 WBFO-HD3 Buffalo.

For now, the station will operate the national network based in Fresno, California, but intends to add local shows and sponsors in the coming months.

Casimiro Rodriguez, President and Founder of the Hispanic Heritage Council of Western New York and Sin Fronteras WNY said, “This is a monumental step forward in bringing Hispanic/Latino programming to our growing Hispanic community here in WNY, and we are grateful for the partnership with Buffalo Toronto Public Media. This project has been in the works for many years and I am delighted that it has finally come to fruition. We already have a local talk show program in production and several sponsors have signed on. It won’t be long before our local community hears local voices at the station.

Tom Calderone, President and CEO of Buffalo Toronto Public Media, added: “Similar to our adaptive sports initiatives and WBFO’s What’s Next, Radio Bilingüe closely aligns with Buffalo Toronto Public Media’s mission to support communities generally neglected by traditional media. Through this partnership with Sin Fronteras WNY and the Hispanic Heritage Council, Radio Bilingüe will serve and celebrate our Latino audience from southern Ontario to the South.
