54-year-old cyclist fatally injured in traffic accident

A 54-year-old Alaska man was struck and killed by a Lincoln Towncar in Westminster about 40 minutes before sunrise on Friday.

According to Sergeant Eddie Esqueda of the Westminster Police Department, officers responded to an accident at the intersection of 20th Street and Beach Boulevard around 5 a.m. Friday in which a tan Towncar struck a cyclist riding in the lane.

Paramedics from the Orange County Fire Department arrived at the scene of the accident a short time later and determined the cyclist dead at the scene.
