Police identify two drivers killed in Chandler crash

CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — Police have determined the identities of two drivers who died in a crash in Chandler late Tuesday night.

Chandler police said the crash happened around 10:30 p.m. near Armstrong Place and Price Road. Officers arrived to find both drivers dead. They were the only ones left in their vehicles.

The driver of the Nissan was identified as 38-year-old Nick Vasquez of Casa Grande, Arizona. The driver of the Ford SUV was identified as Sameera Vishwanath of Newark, California.

According to authorities, Vasquez was driving south on Price Road before he lost control and collided with Vishwanath’s SUV.

The detectives began their investigations and ordered the intersection to be closed until late into the night.

Chandler Police say speed, impairment and other factors that may have contributed to this crash are being investigated. Investigators are still working to determine what caused Vasquez to lose control.
