One dead after shooting on 33rd Avenue in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Police and the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) are on the scene of a fatal shooting Thursday evening that left one man dead in Tuscaloosa’s West End.

Captain Marty Sellers, VCU’s deputy commandant, told local media that authorities responded to a call of a shooting in the 800 block of 33rd Avenue, just off Stillman Boulevard, on Thursday evening.

When police arrived on the scene, they found that an adult man had been shot.

The victim has not been identified at this time and the circumstances of the fatal shooting are unclear.

Sellers confirmed to Patch that the victim was an adult, but declined to provide further details at this early stage of the investigation.
