Car crash in Venango County leads to death of elderly man

(WJET/WFXP) – An elderly man has died in a car accident in Venango County.

On Monday, June 17, the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Franklin responded to an accident in Cranberry Township at approximately 2:45 p.m.


According to police, the driver of the vehicle, 81-year-old Wayne O’Hara, was traveling westbound on US-322 when he left the road while attempting to make a left turn.

After leaving the road, O’Hara struck a ditch, then an embankment, then the ditch again, causing the car to flip onto its roof. His vehicle eventually came to a stop on the shoulder of the westbound lane of US-322.

According to police, O’Hara succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
