At least 10 dead or injured in hospital attack in China

At least ten people were killed or injured in an attack on a hospital in southwest China, state media reported on Tuesday.

Early reports of the incident in Zhenxiong county, Yunnan province, were sparse – no details were given about the victims, the attacker or a possible motive.

“The relevant information is being verified,” state news agency Xinhua said.

It is not yet known whether the suspect was subdued by police.

Zhenxiong County is located in northeast Yunnan and borders Guizhou and Sichuan provinces. Until 2020, it was considered “poverty-stricken”.

In January, the county was hit by an avalanche that killed 44 people.
