Polk County woman arrested for murder of 4-year-old daughter

DAVENPORT, Fla. – A mother is accused of killing her infant daughter in Polk County, the sheriff’s office said.

Sheriff Grady Judd is expected to provide details of the “horrific” murder and subsequent arrest during a news conference Wednesday afternoon.

There is currently little information available. Still, the sheriff’s office says a 36-year-old Davenport woman is now facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and tampering with a witness.

The woman’s daughter was 4 years old, authorities said.

Judd is scheduled to speak at 12:30 p.m
