Man charged in road rage shooting on Pennyrile Parkway | NewsRadio 1230 AM/99.3 FM | Hopkinsville’s News Leader

A man is facing charges for allegedly firing shots at another vehicle during a driving aggression incident on Pennyrile Parkway Tuesday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, officers responded to the area of the 18 mile marker on the Pennyrile Parkway for a report of shots fired. The victim stated he was being chased by a man who allegedly fired shots at his vehicle.

At the 11-mile marker, officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop and made contact with 74-year-old Daniel Coffman, who allegedly admitted to firing a weapon but aimed it into the air to scare the victims.

The investigation by a Hopkinsville Police officer assisting with the traffic stop revealed a bullet hole in the bumper of the victim’s vehicle, which contradicted Coffman’s statement.

Coffman was arrested and charged with first degree reckless endangerment.
