Rapist to be released on parole despite victim warning against striking again

A rapist is to be released on parole – despite a warning from one of his victims that he would strike again.

Lee Hill, who was sentenced to three life sentences in 2000, was released according to a preliminary decision.

But the mother of two children he raped at knifepoint in her home said: “I have no doubt that he is capable of raping someone again.”

“He is an extreme danger to the public.

“He had every intention of murdering me and now he is in a position to murder someone.”

She was attacked by Hill, now 49, at her home in Esher, Surrey, in 1999 – five months after he was released from another nine-year prison sentence for another rape.

The woman, now 56 years old, had returned from a hospital visit to her husband and was reading in bed when he collapsed.

Hill hit her with a knife and threatened to kill her and her two-year-old daughter, who was sleeping in the next room.

The victim met Hill in prison in 2014 as part of a restitution initiative, but did not believe he had changed.

She said: ‘He told me he was planning to break into someone’s house for fun.

“To me, this is inhumane. It is beyond sadistic. None of us knows what he is going to do and that worries me.”

The parole board confirmed his release but said protecting the public was its “top priority.”
