MARION COUNTY, Florida. — An 18-year-old Ocala woman was killed and two others injured — one of them a 2-year-old boy — when a pickup truck struck her sedan in Marion County on Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred around 4:42 p.m. at the intersection of SW 95th Circle and County Road 484, troopers said.

According to an FHP accident report, the sedan was traveling southbound in the right-turn lane of SW 95th Circle while the pickup truck was traveling westbound on CR 484. As the sedan entered the intersection, the pickup truck’s front struck its left side, troopers said. Both vehicles eventually came to a stop on the south shoulder of CR 484, the report said.

The 20-year-old Ocala man driving the sedan suffered serious injuries in the crash and his passenger, an 18-year-old woman, suffered fatal injuries, according to FHP. The third occupant of the sedan, a 2-year-old boy from Ocala, suffered serious injuries in the crash, the report said. Neither the man nor the woman were wearing seat belts during the crash, troopers said, adding that the boy was in a child seat.
