Police investigate shooting that leaves 1 dead, 1 injured in Gaston County – WSOC TV

GASTON COUNTY, NC — One person was killed and another was hospitalized after a shooting Friday night in Gastonia, police said.

Gaston County police are investigating and said the shooting occurred around 10 p.m. near the corner of Pine Street and Shamrock Road.

According to GCPD, officers found two people shot and took them both to the hospital. One of the victims succumbed to his injuries, and the other was in stable condition Saturday morning.

Police say “all individuals have been identified” and there is no threat to the public. It is not clear if a suspect is in custody or if the two victims shot each other. Investigators have not said what led to the shooting.

The victims have not yet been identified.

The GCPD is asking anyone with information about the shooting to call 704-866-3320.
