OSHA cites Sikes Farm in silo incident

The February incident that left two men trapped in a grain elevator “could have been prevented,” an Occupational Safety and Health Administration official said. In addition, Greg Sikes Farm LLC in Brooklet “cannot continue to fail its workers by failing to provide them with a safe and healthy work environment,” said Robert Vazzi, area director of OSHA’s Savannah office. Greg Sikes LLC, which does business as Greg Sikes Farm LLC, was “charged with two willful and five serious safety violations and proposed penalties of $127,400,” OSHA spokesman Michael D’Aquino said.
