Heavy police presence on State Street in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts (WWLP) – A heavy police presence was seen in the 600 block of State Street in Springfield Wednesday evening.

Just after 11 p.m. Wednesday night, a large police presence can be seen in the 600 block of State Street. 22News crews can see several patrol cars as well as sections of the road cordoned off and officers monitoring the area.

We are unsure what police are looking for and what prompted this response. 22News has reached out to authorities and we are awaiting a response. We will provide updates as they become available.
