18-year-old Trent Greene found dead in Rio Arriba County

RIO ARRIBA COUNTY, NM (KRQE) – An 18-year-old was found dead of a gunshot wound in Rio Arriba County on the afternoon of June 2. According to the Rio Arriba Sheriff’s Office, the shooting death of high school senior Trent Greene is being investigated as a homicide.

The sheriff’s office reported that Greene’s body was found near the intersection of State Highway 595 and State Road 96 north of Regina. Greene had graduated from Cuba High School just weeks before his death.

As of Tuesday, authorities have not named any suspects in the case, but have received many tips from community members, according to Major Lorenzo Aguilar. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Rio Arriba Sheriff’s Office at 505-753-3329.
