Shooting in Joliet: Police report 3 shots, 1 fatal, through window of home in 400 block of Krakar Avenue

JOLIET, Ill. (WLS) – Three people were shot, one fatally, in a home in a southern suburb on Saturday evening, police said.

Shortly after 11 p.m., Joliet police responded to a home in the 400 block of Krakar Avenue, where they found two gunshot victims in the living room.

A 23-year-old man who felt a hot sensation in his head was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

A 27-year-old man who suffered a non-life-threatening graze wound to the head was taken to Silver Cross Hospital where he was treated and discharged.

Another 20-year-old man suffered four gunshot wounds to his body, officers learned when securing the scene. A private vehicle took him to Silver Cross Hospital in a stable condition.

Police believe the shots came from outside the home and struck all three victims in the front living room. Officers found more than 25 shell casings at the scene.

According to police, there is no known threat to the community.
