Nico Collins gets huge three-year extension with Houston Texans

Collins’ annual salary will exceed $40 million

The extension is valued at $72.75 million, with $52 million guaranteed, making it Colin one of the ten highest paid receivers in the NFL.

His average annual salary of nearly $24.2 million ranks him seventh among his peers, just ahead of the Seattle Seahawks.DK Metcalf and behind the Philadelphia EaglesAJ Brownthe highest-paid receiver in the league.

Collins’ performance in 2023 was a major factor in this lucrative deal.

He posted career highs across the board with 80 receptions for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns, narrowly missing his first Pro Bowl selection.

This breakout season came after a relatively modest start to his career, where he recorded 70 catches for 927 yards and three touchdowns in his first two seasons.

The Texans were impressed by Collins’ performance

Texans general manager Nick Caserio had alluded to these negotiations earlier, expressing his desire to retain Colin long term.
