Hot temperatures and possible storms in the Memorial Day forecast

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – An initial warning has been issued for Memorial Day as thunderstorms are expected in the morning hours and again in the evening.

Monday morning’s storm chances could linger across the region from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. as thunderstorms move from the mountains across the foothills into the Charlotte area. Storms could then form again between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Afternoon highs will be in the high 80s.

Both Tuesday and Wednesday will be predominantly sunny with maximum temperatures between 30 and 35 degrees.

On Thursday and Friday it will be a few degrees cooler, with temperatures expected to be just over 27 degrees. It will be mostly sunny on both days.

After what is expected to be a dry working week, there is again a possibility of isolated thunderstorms next weekend.
