1 dead after boat accident off Padre Island

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Corpus Christi Fire Department, ESD2 and the United States Coast Guard are on the scene of a fatal boating accident on Padre Island.

Officials told 3NEWS it was a single boating accident. There were two people on the boat, one of whom was confirmed dead.

After the accident, rescue workers who responded to the incident gathered at Marina Marker 37.

The Texas Game Wardens are the lead agency on site. Our photographer can confirm that a body was pulled from the water.

No further details are currently available.

According to ESD 2 officials, emergency responders and first responders are currently being asked to avoid this scene.
