The search for the shooter continues after a woman was killed and a man was injured in a shooting in North Miami Beach

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Florida. – Police in North Miami Beach continue to search for the person responsible for a fatal shooting.

The victim, 20-year-old Junisha Niclasse, a bright, talented dancer and aspiring nurse, was shot and killed Friday evening in North Miami Beach.

Another victim, a man, was also shot but survived.

According to police, it started in the area of ​​Northeast 159th Street and 18th Avenue when officers received a shotgun alarm and found 31 shell casings but no signs of victims.

Surveillance video from a nearby Marathon gas station on the corner of Northeast 163rd Street and 22nd Avenue showed a car speeding up just before 7:30 p.m. Friday. Police said the shooting victims were in that car.

In the video you can see a man getting out and hopping on one foot into the gas station. He goes out and six minutes later the police are seen rushing to their aid.

Authorities said both victims were shot in the neck. The male victim was taken to the hospital, but Niclasse was pronounced dead at the scene.

A family friend told Local 10 News she had her real estate license and attended nursing school after graduating from high school in 2021 at the top of her class.

She was also described as polite, respectful and beautiful – inside and out.
