Sean Richmond – Stroudsburg athletic director and Easton wrestling great – dies in crash in Tobyhanna Township | Poconos and Coal Region

MONROE CO., Pa. – Stroudsburg Area School District athletic director Sean Richmond was killed in a crash Saturday evening on Interstate 380 in Tobyhanna Township.

According to the Monroe County Coroner’s Office, 38-year-old Sean Richmond of Stroudsburg has been identified as the victim in the fatal wreck. State police said they received numerous calls about a person being hit by a tractor-trailer.

Richmond also served as Stroudsburg’s wrestling coach and was a major wrestling star at Easton Area High School in the early 200s.

There is no information available about the cause of the crash.

The Pennsylvania State Police and the Monroe County Coroner’s Office are investigating.

Richmond recently celebrated his 100th win as Stroudsburg’s wrestling coach in late 2023.

Tributes to Richmond are pouring in on social media.

Former Easton High School wrestling coach Steven Powell posted on Facebook: “One of Easton’s best; incredibly sad, a devastating blow to a great family. Two beautiful daughters and a wonderful wife. Sean Richmond, the best, a son, passed away soon.” ”
