In Ohio, a police officer was shot dead after being ambushed

EUCLID, Ohio (AP) — A police officer was shot in Ohio after he was called to a residential area regarding a disturbance, local media reported.

Multiple news outlets, citing a statement from the Euclid Police Department, reported that the officer was shot Saturday evening after being ambushed by a suspect in the city of Euclid, a suburb of Cleveland.

The officer was taken to the hospital and died from his injuries.

Several law enforcement agencies were still searching for the suspect early Sunday.
