3 dead after driver flees police in Georgia, vehicle crashes and car bursts into flames – WSB-TV Channel 2

CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. – A driver and two passengers are dead after fleeing police in Carroll County.

On Friday, police saw a silver Lexus IS traveling north on Bowdon Junction Road, struck by a sign marked “Mt. Zion” marked police vehicle drove away.

When the vehicle left the road, it struck a large utility pole and a boulder, police said. After hitting the boulder, the Lexus caught fire and began to tip over.

However, the driver of the vehicle drove too fast on a curve and lost control. According to police, the vehicle then crossed into the oncoming lane and left the side of the road.

When it rolled over, the driver was partially thrown out of the vehicle. The driver and two other passengers could not be identified due to severe burns.

All three occupants in the vehicle died from their injuries.
