Teenager escapes from St. Louis County detention center, steals vehicle and is arrested

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Missouri — St. Louis County police have arrested a juvenile for escaping from a jail and stealing a guard’s vehicle. The juvenile, who escaped from the Missouri Department of Juvenile Justice, has since been re-arrested. The escape occurred on April 2.

According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, the teen was in custody when they pushed a guard to the ground, causing her to hit her head. While the guard was on the ground, the teen and another teen took the guard’s car keys from her pocket. The two escapees then stole the guard’s vehicle, a red 2012 Nissan Rogue.


The victim stated that the two teenagers also took her cell phone, backpack and keys and pushed her twice.

One of the juveniles was arrested and is being held without bail. The arrested juvenile is accused of robbery, attempted prison escape, car theft and assault.
