Owner of security company arrested for sexual abuse of child

Northwest ISD says it is currently reviewing its contract with the company and that there is no record of the man ever visiting one of its schools or having contact with a student.

PARKER COUNTY, Texas – The owner of a security company hired to protect some Northwest ISD schools was recently arrested on complaints of sexual abuse of a child and prohibited sexual conduct, jail records show.

Kirk Grabel, 54, the owner of Lone Star Protection and Security, was arrested on July 16 and booked into the Parker County Jail. According to jail records, he was charged with sexual abuse of a child and sexual misconduct dating back to 2021 and 2022, respectively. Grabel posted bail and was released from jail on July 17.

Northwest ISD confirmed they were aware of Grable’s arrest and were investigating the district’s contract with Lone Star Protection and Security.

“Northwest ISD is aware of the arrest of Kirk Stanley Grabel, owner of Lone Star Protection & Security, for sexual abuse of a child and immediately began an investigation into his company’s contract,” the district said in a statement to WFAA. “Kirk Grabel has never worked at a district school, and we have no record of him ever visiting a district school or interacting with a Northwest ISD student. Protecting our students is our top priority, and we take all allegations of child endangerment seriously.”

Before founding Lone Star Protection and Security, Grabel worked in public safety for more than 30 years, including as a rescue specialist with Texas Task Force One, according to the company’s website.
