1 dead after plane crash in Ashtabula County

HARPERSFIELD TWP., Ohio (WOIO) – A pilot died in a plane crash in Ashtabula County Sunday evening.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), police were called to the scene of the accident off the runway at Germack Airport shortly before 6 p.m.

The pilot of the single-engine plane died as a result of the crash.

Both the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the crash.
