Moment Donald Trump was attacked at a rally in Pennsylvania

Donald Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt today during a speech at a rally in Pennsylvania when several shots were fired at him. The former US president was evacuated from the stage by security forces and is said to be fine.

In a video capturing the moment of the horrific incident, Donald Trump is seen delivering his speech to a large crowd of his supporters when several gunshots are heard. After the first few shots, which caught Donald Trump off guard, he is seen touching his right ear before ducking to take cover behind the podium. The crowd behind him, visibly confused and frightened, also ducks to avoid a bullet.

Secret Service agents quickly come to Trump’s aid, cover him and escort him off the stage. Trump, whose right ear is bleeding, raises his fist in the air during the evacuation.

Trump is “doing well” and is being evaluated at a medical facility, his campaign team said after the attack. “President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick actions during this heinous act. He is doing well and is being evaluated at a local medical facility. Further details to follow,” said spokesman Steven Cheung.

According to US media, two people were killed, including the suspected shooter. “Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger said two people were dead, including a suspected shooter,” the Washington Post reported.

US President Joe Biden has condemned the attack on his political rival. “I am grateful to hear that he is safe and doing well. I am praying for him and his family and for everyone who was at the rally as we await more information,” Biden said in a post on X.

“Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There is no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as a nation and condemn it,” he added.
