A weather warning for heat and humidity on Sunday and Monday

ST. LOUIS — The 5 On Your Side Weather Team has issued a heat and humidity warning for Sunday and Monday. Stay cool and stay hydrated.

A heat warning begins at 1 p.m. Sunday and lasts until 8 p.m. Monday. Highs will be in the 100s for the next few days, with the heat index reaching 105 to 110.

• Drink plenty of water and other non-alcoholic beverages
• Find an air-conditioned room and avoid the sun if possible
• Check on relatives and neighbors.
• Children and pets should never be left unattended in the vehicle.
• Take plenty of breaks when working or spending time outdoors.
• If possible, postpone activities until early morning or evening when it is a little cooler.
• Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
• Wear light and loose-fitting clothing.
• Anyone suffering from the heat should be moved to a shady place or an air-conditioned environment.
