Mansfield Police ask public for help in catching sports car thief

MANSFIELD – Mansfield police are asking for the public’s help in catching a thief who may be driving around town in an expensive car.

On June 6, the suspect entered the Mansfield YMCA and gained access to a secured locker, where he allegedly stole two credit cards, according to police Captain Randy Carver.

“This suspect then went to Best Buy in Ontario and made large purchases using the credit cards,” Carver said.

“After leaving Best Buy, the suspect went to Meijer in Ontario where he made another purchase using one of the credit cards,” the captain said.

The video surveillance shows that the felon is driving a silver-gray BMW, which apparently has a spare tire or another wheel on the rear passenger side.

“Investigators are asking the community for help in identifying the suspect in order to bring him to justice,” Carver said.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation or the suspect is asked to call Det. Terry Butler of the Mansfield Police Department at 419-755-9791.
