Wylie police arrest Mesquite man in shooting investigation | Texas

WYLIE, Texas — Wylie police have arrested a Mesquite man in connection with a shooting on June 25.

On June 25th at approximately 2:00 a.m., Wylie Police responded to the 100 block of S. Ballard Ave after receiving a report of shots fired into a vehicle. The reporter stated that while driving, another vehicle fired shots at his car. Officers were unable to locate the suspect at the time of the incident.

Criminal Investigators worked the case carefully and developed sufficient probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant. On July 10, investigators arrested 65-year-old Darvin Hill of Mesquite for deadly conduct and discharge of a firearm. Hill was taken into custody without incident, according to a Wylie police news release.

The shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute that began in a neighboring judicial district and culminated in the shooting in Wylie, the press release said.
