Months of investigation lead to the seizure of 121 kg of methamphetamine

HANCOCK COUNTY, Mississippi (WLOX) – Three people are currently in custody after a multi-agency investigation discovered 121 kilograms of methamphetamine, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday.

On July 7, investigators conducted a surveillance and traffic stop operation following a months-long investigation by the Hattiesburg Post of Duty into an interstate drug trafficking organization based in Dallas and Houston, Texas.

During this operation, three people were arrested and drugs were confiscated.

According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the drug seizure is believed to be the largest methamphetamine seizure to date that occurred solely on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The DEA, HPO, HCSO, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Waveland Police Department and Bay St. Louis Police Department were involved in the investigation.
