Police search for arsonist from Sandpoint Army Surplus

The Sandpoint Police Department and the Fire Marshal’s Office are offering a $5,000 reward for information.

SANDPOINT, Idaho – Sandpoint Police are asking for your help in identifying an arsonist in connection with a fire that broke out at the Army Surplus Store on July 4.

According to the city of Sandpoint, surveillance video showed someone approaching the south wall of the Army Surplus store on the night of July 4.

Moments later, flames are seen as the suspect walks away from the scene.

The owner of the Army Surplus store said the building was a total loss.

Sandpoint police are asking anyone with surveillance footage that could help identify the suspect to call them at 208-265-1482.

The Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office has determined the fire to be arson and is offering a $5,000 reward for information.

Sandpoint Police say if you have information and wish to remain anonymous, you can call the tip line at 1-877-75-ARSON.
