New York City’s second heat wave of 2024 continues. Here’s the First Alert forecast.

NEW YORK — It’s official: Monday was New York City’s hottest day yet, according to the National Weather Service. It was 95 degrees in Central Park at 1:43 p.m. as the city’s heat wave continues.

Heat wave continues

A heat warning applies to most of the New York metropolitan area until Wednesday. Temperatures in some places are between 35 and 40 degrees.

This is the second heatwave in the region in 2024.

Forecast for Tuesday

Tuesday will be hot and very humid with isolated afternoon thunderstorms. Highs will be in the 90s, but it will feel like 95+.

Forecast for Wednesday

On Wednesday it will be hot and humid again, with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures will be over 30 degrees, but will feel like 35 degrees.

Forecast for Thursday

On Thursday it will be very humid again with isolated thunderstorms and rain showers. The maximum temperatures will be between 30 and 35 degrees, but it will feel like just over 35 degrees.

Forecast for Friday

Friday will be very humid and there is still a chance of thunderstorms. Expect highs in the 30s.
