15-year-old girl raped while playing with her grandmother – Tzaneen Voice

POLOKWANE: Police in Musina, Vhembe District are investigating the case of rape of a 15-year-old girl which occurred at Matswale location, Phase 9 on Saturday, 6 July 2024 at about 7pm.

According to reports, the victim was at home when she told her older sister that she was going to her grandmother’s house to play with other children.

The victim left the house but did not return in time. Her sister decided to check at her grandmother’s house but was told that she never arrived. She continued to search for the victim until she returned and found the victim at her grandmother’s house.

The victim told them that she had met a male suspect on the way who allegedly grabbed the victim and forcibly took her to an empty house and raped her.

The victim was subsequently released and went back to her grandmother’s house where she informed her family about the rape incident. The incident was immediately reported to the police who initiated a case of rape.

A manhunt has been launched to arrest the suspect.
