Cleveland Police: 3 injured after woman’s ex-boyfriend shoots couple, man returns fire

CLEVELAND – Three people were injured when two men shot each other following an argument near Wade Park in Cleveland early Saturday morning, police confirmed.

According to a Cleveland police spokesman, a 32-year-old man and his 30-year-old girlfriend were walking in the 7400 block of Wade Park Avenue around 1:50 a.m. Saturday when they were approached by the woman’s ex-boyfriend.

The police spokesman said there was a “breakup” between the three before the ex-boyfriend, whose identity remained unknown, began shooting at the couple and the 32-year-old returned fire.

All three people were taken to a hospital by Cleveland EMS. The 30-year-old woman was treated and released, while the two men were hospitalized for their injuries. There is no information on their current condition.

Police did not release the names of those involved in the shooting.

The shooting remains under investigation. Police did not release details about possible charges.
