Traffic warning: Accident on US 183 leads to closure of all lanes

AUSTIN (KXAN) — All lanes are currently closed on southbound and northbound U.S. 183 at Burleson Road due to an accident, the Texas Department of Transportation announced on social media Thursday.

Just before 5 p.m. Thursday, Austin-Travis County EMS paramedics responded to the accident after a crash was reported on U.S. 183 near Burleson Road. The Austin Fire Department and Travis County STAR Flight also responded to the accident.

The trapped person was extricated from the vehicle and then transported by STAR flight to Dell Seton with serious injuries, paramedics said. Another person was also injured and transported to St. David’s South with minor injuries.

Motorists should expect longer traffic delays and take an alternative route. No further details were announced on Thursday.
