BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Boardman police were called Tuesday to investigate three reports of road rage, two of which reportedly involved firearms.

On Tuesday around 8:40 p.m., a man reported that a driver in a white Chevrolet Impala or Malibu threatened to “shoot” him with a gun after he honked his horn at the car that nearly collided with him. The man said the incident occurred in the area of Midlothian Boulevard and Shirley Road, but the driver followed him onto Mathews Road, where he threatened him with a silver handgun.

The man said he then ran off and called 911.

A suspect was not identified in the report.

Police also previously received a report that a man in a Jeep Grand Cherokee pointed a gun at another driver and said, “If I see you again, I’ll blow your head off.” The incident reportedly occurred while the drivers were traveling on US-224, and the caller reported that the driver cut him off before making the threat.

The man did not know why the man cut him off or threatened him, but said he thought it might have been because he had a “Free Palestine” sticker on his car.

The police also received a report from a woman who said she had been threatened by another driver because he was angry because she had stopped for a few seconds at a red light out of caution.

The woman said the driver of a black GMC Sierra truck told her something along the lines of “I’m sorry” after verbally abusing her. The woman acknowledged the incident was likely not a crime, but said she wanted to pass on the information in case it escalated with someone else.

Police identified a suspect in this incident and said he was involved in a similar incident in 2022 that led to the filing of a report.
