Canalside unveils the list of events it will offer this summer

The announcement of what’s happening at the Buffalo attraction comes just before the July 4 holiday.

BUFFALO, NY — The tall ship Lettie G. Howard will arrive Friday, July 5, at Canalside, and free public tours will take place Saturday and Sunday.

The vessel is a historic example of a Georges Bank fishing schooner.

Visitations will take place on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., then on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and again that evening from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is just one of the many activities offered at the water’s edge this year.

Lauren Ford, executive director of Buffalo Waterfront, said, “There’s a lot going on here and we’re really encouraging people. It’s a great day to spend the day with your family, discover a little history and discover the different ways you can interact with Au bord du canal all summer long.”

There will also be plenty of other things to do at Canalside this summer when you wait to tour the ship. such as an interactive exhibit from I Heart New York, indigenous lacrosse workshops and free fitness classes.

Ford also mentions that there will be opportunities to sail the ship as well.

Appointments should be available closer to the weekend.
