VCU issues warning after stabbing near campus

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) has issued an alert informing students and staff of a serious assault that occurred near campus late Friday night.

On Friday, June 21, at approximately 10:56 p.m., VCU and Richmond police responded to a report of an aggravated assault that had occurred in the 300 block of West Grace Street.


According to police, the victim approached nearby medical units and reported being stabbed in the neck.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Police said the victim did not provide authorities with any information about the suspect or the location of the incident.
