Rape trial in Chipping Norton: Man acquitted by jury in Oxford

Ethan Allsford, 29, has been charged with rape after allegedly attacking a woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in Chipping Norton on March 20, 2021.

A jury heard the couple had been drinking together at Allsford’s home before the alleged incident happened in an upstairs bedroom.

However, Allsford denied the incident and stated that the incident between the two was consensual.

After a week-long trial, a jury found him not guilty of rape on Friday (June 21) and Allsford, who has no fixed address, was allowed to leave the courtroom.
