Cumberland County man arrested for rape and exploitation of disabled person: police

Police in Cumberland County arrested a 31-year-old man on Thursday and charged him with rape of a mentally disabled person and financial exploitation of a dependent person, a police report said.

Waren Mena, of Carlisle, is also charged with sexual assault of a mentally disabled person, possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court records.

Court documents state that the crime occurred on April 1, 2024. However, police did not specify when the abuse occurred, but gave an address in the 300 block of Army Heritage Road in Carlisle.

According to a police report, Middlesex Township Police obtained an arrest warrant for Mena on Thursday and arrested him with assistance from Carlisle Borough Police.

Mena was taken to the Cumberland County Jail, where he remained in custody Friday evening. He failed to post his $75,000 bail. Mena’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 3.
