Potential security breach at Disability Rights Wisconsin could affect nearly 20,000 Medicaid members

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – The health information of nearly 20,000 Medicaid members in Wisconsin may have been exposed in a security incident at Disability Rights Wisconsin.

According to a press release from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Friday, Disability Rights Wisconsin experienced a security incident after suspicious activity was detected on a DRW email account.

The incident may have exposed the protected health information of 19,150 Medicaid members in Wisconsin, according to DHS. DHS and DRW say they are continuing to investigate the incident and are addressing any complications that arise.

DRW is mailing a notice to all members whose information may have been accessed and is offering one year of free credit monitoring and a dedicated call center that will begin taking calls at 8 a.m. on June 24. DRW members with questions can call 888-733-3814 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
