2. Exclusive: Filipino restaurant Kamayan ATL to expand in Doraville

🇵🇭 Kamayan ATL is expanding its operations at Asian Square, an Asian retail and restaurant complex on Buford Highway.

Dr. Zheng Xiang Wang closes Wang Eye Clinic after nearly 20 years, a reflection of the aging and retirement of Asian Square’s owners. Next-door neighbor Kamayan ATL will use the 3,000 square foot space for pop-ups and infinity seating while undergoing a year-long renovation.

Owners Mia Orino and Carlo Gan plan to renovate in stages by “beautifying the facade” and building a restaurant kitchen. They are applying for a beer and wine license – something Kamayan ATL lacks.

🗣️ U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff said he will not participate in the polarizing political climate that has gripped the country in recent years. He made the remarks at the Brookhaven/Perimeter Chamber of Commerce luncheon on June 14.

“We have to be careful not to let partisan conversations distort our view of the world,” the first-term senator told a packed crowd at the Partners for Prosperity luncheon at the Atlanta Marriott at the Perimeter Center. “Every day, our team responds to the specific needs of our constituents. »

Ossoff said that when he was elected in 2021, he made a conscious decision to become known for his accomplishments rather than becoming famous for “posting insults on various platforms.” He also said that despite the perception that the federal government is at an impasse, progress has been made that has improved the lives of many Georgians.
