Marlton, NJ, curfew lifted, shooter arrested, police say – NBC10 Philadelphia

Police in Marlton, New Jersey, have lifted the curfew after a man barricaded himself in a house on Brookfield Drive and fired shots from there.

At around 8:42 a.m., police announced that the man involved in the incident had been arrested and the curfew had been lifted.

Police have not yet identified the man, but said more information will follow.

On Monday morning, Evesham Township police officers urged residents of Marlton, New Jersey, to “stay home” after a man barricaded himself in a home on Brookfield Drive and fired shots Monday morning.

At around 5:12 a.m., Chief Walt Miller of the Evesham Township Police Department alerted the public via social media about the ongoing incident.

He said there was a “heavy police presence” in the area. During the morning incident, traffic was closed on Hopewell Road between Kelly Drive and Kettle Run Road, and authorities said Kettle Run Road was closed from Hopewell Road to Sycamore Drive.

Police urged residents to “avoid this area until further notice.”

Roads were closed across the region on Monday morning and residents in surrounding areas were told to stay home, officials said.

“We have been in contact with local school districts to modify school bus routes in the area,” Miller said. “Our goal is to safely resolve this situation. Additional details will be announced at a later date.”

As of about 7:35 a.m., police reported that there were no injuries in this case.

The police have not yet released any information about the person suspected of being responsible, but the incident is not yet over.
