Father defends daughter against alleged sexual abuse by rideshare driver

A ride-share driver was shot dead after the father of a drunk passenger caught the driver raping her.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, the ride-sharing driver is said to have raped a drunk woman who was relying on the ride to get home safely.

According to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a weapons violation call near 6th Avenue Southeast and found that the ride-share driver had been shot.

Investigators said the father caught the ride-share driver raping his daughter near a fishing spot and shots were fired.

The passenger was taken to the hospital for treatment and subsequently arrested for second-degree rape and first-degree kidnapping.

Detectives found two cartridge cases near the location where the weapons violation was reported.
