Green Forest man sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting and abusing 8-year-old girl

FAYETTEVILLE – A Green Forest man was sentenced Friday to 360 months in prison without the possibility of parole for two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor through the production of child pornography. The Honorable Timothy L. Brooks presided over the sentencing hearings held in U.S. District Court in Fayetteville.

According to court documents, in February 2023, Homeland Security Investigations agents and task force officers received information that 33-year-old Terencio “Junior” Perez-Cancino had uploaded images to Snap Chat servers depicting himself sexually abusing a female approximately eight years old. Officers and agents executed a search warrant at Perez-Cancino’s home, and in a post-Miranda interview, he admitted that he had created the images depicting his abuse of the minor female approximately two years earlier. The minor subsequently admitted in a forensic interview that Perez-Cancino had sexually abused her over a period of approximately four years.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Clay Fowlkes of the Western District of Arkansas.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, the Eureka Springs Police Department and the Green Forest Police Department.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Devon Still prosecuted these cases on behalf of the United States.

This case was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006. Led by the U.S. Attorneys and CEOS, Project Safe Childhood combines federal, state, and local resources to better find, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children over the Internet, and to identify and rescue victims.
