Man makes death threats after stealing candy bars from Campbell store – The Mercury News

April, 30th

Possession of paraphernalia: 1:12 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Bascom Avenue. A man knocked over newspaper stands and screamed. He was contacted and found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

RETAIL THEFT: 12:51 p.m. in the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. A shoplifter stole merchandise valued at less than $400.

NOISE DISTURBANCE: 8:23 a.m. in the 500 block of West Hacienda Avenue. A woman was playing loud music in her apartment, and the victim said it had been a problem for over a year.

RETAIL THEFT, CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, TORT POSSESSION: 9:49 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue. A woman entered the store with two other people. She left the store without paying and the other two decided to pay for their items. The suspect was in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine, was under the influence of a stimulant, and committed organized retail theft. There were also three arrest warrants against her.

MONEY OBTAINED BY FALSE PRETENDS: in the 1600 block of South Winchester Boulevard. The victim has had approximately $5,000 withdrawn from his bank account without his permission for about a year.

ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON: 6:35 p.m. in the 500 block of West Rincon Avenue. Three victims were confronted by a man who was behaving erratically. He approached the group several times and eventually displayed a silver box cutter while attempting to strike the males. The suspect managed to cut a victim’s right hand before being thrown to the ground and disarmed.

1st of May

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 5:07 p.m. in the 2100 block of Winchester Boulevard. Officers responded to a report that a man and a woman were causing a disturbance at a restaurant. The man was arrested for public drunkenness.

2.May

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, CONCEALING EVIDENCE: 1:50 a.m. in the 1900 block of South Bascom Avenue. A woman had four outstanding warrants for her arrest totaling $38,000. A small bag containing a white crystalline substance was found hidden within reach of where she was sitting.

BODILY INJURY, FALSE IMMEDIATION: 11 p.m. at the 900 BLOCK RAVENSCOURT Avenue. A man hugged the victim tightly against her will and prevented her from leaving for three minutes. They fought against the door of the victim’s vehicle as he tried to drive away. The man pushed the door shut on the victim’s arm, leaving a red mark.

May 3rd

INN FRAUD: 1:47 p.m. in the 100 block of East Campbell Avenue. Four people ate dinner and rushed to the VTA station in Winchester. The bill was $950.

RETAIL THEFT: 5:00 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue. Two people stole approximately $2,010 worth of fragrances.

May 4th

DUI: 2:31 a.m. at Curtner Avenue and South McGlincy Lane. A man was stopped for violating traffic rules. He exhibited signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning and failed to complete stated and verified field sobriety tests.

Petty theft: 4:10 p.m. in the 2400 block of Winchester Boulevard. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a business. A woman was seen leaving the store when employees stopped officers and said she took items without paying. The woman was stopped, charged with theft and released from the scene.

ROBBERY: 6:05 a.m. in the 2300 block of Winchester Boulevard. A man walked into a store and stole a $1 Crunch bar. The victim followed him and asked him to pay. He told the victim: ā€œIā€™m going to fucking kill you!ā€

Driving under the influence: 2:15 a.m. at South Bascom and East Hamilton streets. A man was stopped for violating traffic rules. He was found to be drunk driving and was arrested.

5th of May

BURGLARY: 1:19 a.m. in the 200 block of Budd Avenue. Officers responded to a report that someone had ripped the screen off a window and entered the building.

Petty theft: 3:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Bascom Avenue. A man was observed in the store and recognized from previous incidents. He stole a bag and was contacted after leaving the store without attempting to pay. The bag was recovered and returned.

RETAIL THEFT: 2:21 p.m. in the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. Two people fled with various products valued at approximately $1,300. The suspects were found in possession of the items outside the store and placed under arrest.

May 6th

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, CARRYING A LOADED PISTOL, INTENTIONAL DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM, BATTERY OFF PEACE OFFICER: 1:58 a.m. in the 200 block of East Hamilton Avenue. Officers responded to a report of several people playing loud music. One person resisted the officers and challenged them to a fight. An unregistered Stoger 9mm pistol was discovered to belong to another suspect. Five other suspects were arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to jail.
