1 dead in possible drive-by shooting at Houston graduation party

A man was killed and another person injured in a possible drive-by shooting at a high school graduation party early Sunday in southeast Houston, police said.

Police were called to a shooting around 1 a.m. Sunday in the 7000 block of Moss Rose Street, Houston Police Department spokeswoman Jodi Silva said.

Police found a man with a gunshot wound to the head and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Silva said. Police told Onscene it was an adult who was found in the driveway.

Another man, age unknown, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, according to Silva and Onscene reports.

Witnesses told police they were celebrating their high school graduation when an unknown suspect shot into the crowd, Silva said. Some people in the crowd may have fought back, she said.

Silva said she had no information about a potential relationship between the shooter and party attendees.
