1 person shot, several people stabbed after big fight at Lake Berryessa

NAPA COUNTY – One person died and several were stabbed at Lake Berryessa on Saturday, authorities said.

The Napa County Sheriff’s Office said it received initial reports of a large fight at the Oak Shores Day Use Area.

At the scene, officers found that one person had been shot. Officers stated that the person, who could only be identified as a man at the time, died from the gunshot wounds.

Several other people were stabbed during the altercation, the sheriff’s office said. Two of those victims had to be flown by helicopter to area hospitals, while several other stabbing victims got to the hospitals on their own.

It is unclear how many victims the stabbings caused.

No arrests have been made and it is unclear what exactly sparked the fight. The Napa Sheriff’s Office is on the scene and investigating. Investigators expect to be on the scene all night, the sheriff’s office said.

The Oak Shores Day Use Area is located on the central western shore of Lake Berryessa.
